FIVE STAR ADMINISTRATION

Mr. Christian and Dr. Clayman

Mr. Brodie Christian

Dear Selma F. Bartlett Elementary School Community,

My name is Brodie Christian and it continues to be an honor to introduce myself as the principal of Selma F. Bartlett Elementary School.  As a parent and educator, this is a significant responsibility and one I am very excited to have. The foundation of success built by this community and its stakeholders is one I look forward to complementing with hard work, clear communication, and collaboration amongst us all.  When we focus on doing what is best and right for our students, we work together for the common good.  By maintaining a safe and secure learning environment, we can create an optimal educational experience that is fun, positive, and productive for each student.

As a native to Las Vegas since the age of four, I attended Clark County School District schools from kindergarten through high school and graduated from Chaparral High School.  When attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, I earned two Bachelor’s Degrees, the first in Psychology and the second in Elementary Education.  My Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision was obtained from the University of Phoenix in Henderson.  Prior to being appointed principal of Selma F. Bartlett Elementary, I worked as an elementary teacher, a middle school teacher, a middle school dean, and an assistant principal.

On a personal note, my wife, Beth, teaches third grade at a local elementary school in Henderson.  I have four children: Madison, Ryan, Chase, and Makennah.  All of my children attend(ed) CCSD schools as well. My oldest, Madison, is attending UNLV.  Ryan is in high school. Chase is attending middle school. My youngest is in elementary school.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending family vacations in our trailer, reading, golfing, hiking, biking, football, and hockey games (especially UNLV, New England Patriots, and Boston Bruins).

You are always welcome to e-mail me at:

Please feel free to come by and say hello to Ms. Kathy, Ms. Patty, and Ms. Val in the office or call us at 702.799.5750 during regular school hours. Again, I am honored to be the principal of our outstanding school and look forward to working with all of you during the year.

Sincerely,

Mr. Brodie Christian (Mr. C.)

Dr. Christine Clayman

My name is Christine Clayman, and I am really excited to be at Bartlett Bighorn

Country for my second year as your assistant principal! I was born and raised in Kenya,
Africa and speak two other languages besides English! I have a Bachelor’s degree in
education from Kenyatta University, an MBA degree from United States International
University-Africa (USIU), an (MAT) degree from Sierra Nevada College, and a doctoral
degree in Educational Leadership and Conflict Resolution from Nova Southeastern
University (NSU).
My husband is also an educator in CCSD and we have two boys who both
attend middle and high school in CCSD as well. This year my husband and I are hosting a
high school student from Vietnam who is here through a student exchange program. In
my spare time I like to ride my bike, shop/window shop in home improvement stores,
cook for my family, and attend community and cultural events. Most of all I love to
spend time with my family doing whatever they want to do.
I have worked at CCSD since 1997 in various capacities; Substitute Teacher,
Student Teacher, Classroom Teacher, and now as Vice Principal. I have taught in both
middle, high school, and various grades in elementary school. I wanted to get into
educational administration because it provides me an opportunity to impact a lot more
students and be at the forefront of working with teachers and parents to provide our
students an optimal environment for academic and social success. I love working hand in
hand with Mr. Christian to support our teachers to deliver the best education to our
students to help them achieve their educational goals and place them on a path to achieve
their dreams.
I appreciate the engagement and support of our parents, PTO, and overall
school community, and look forward to working with all of you this year to meet the
needs of all our students!
Sincerely,
Dr. Clayman, Assistant Principal
